Heading to Florida this weekend to go pick up my friend "Florida". The trip is going to be split between my self and my good friend Tyler in his car ( 2004 Ford Focus) It seems to be in peak mechanical shape so it is the obvious choice. The only down fall is that it is a manual transmission and lets just say driving a manual is just not my forte. The Map quest directions state that it is a 19.5 hour trip going down I78 to get to Ocoee Florida. Yesterday I stayed up for 20 hours and I must say it was not that bad. I am confident if we leave right as we wake up possibly one of us could drive the entire way but to air on the side of caution we will switch off and on driving just to be some what safe. Wish us luck!

Summers Wagon

My niece Summer will be three on the 16th of May.For her birthday I decided to build this Radio Special wagon with a little bit of a hot rod / rat-rod flair. I started out with a rusty Radio Special wagon I picked out of a scrap pile. Stripped it down to the tub and sand blasted it. I noticed though that after media blasting the bottom of the tub was so pitted it looked like Swiss cheese so I cut out the base and replaced it with a nice piece of Baltic-birch  cabinet grade ply-wood sanded it down and hit it with a few coats of cherry polyurethane and then with a few more coats of high gloss clear  all that is left now it to do a final wet sand and polish to make it look like glass.I masked off the rusted out side shot it with matte clear to seal in the rust and Radio Special graphic.I then shot the inside with 2001 Ford Powder Pistachio which was left over from painting a Focus.I plan on attaching the wood bottom with ten button head screws from the side. I imagine it will be plenty strong enough to support Summers 45 lbs. The wheels are some new old stock Allis Chalmers yard tractor deck wheels. Axles are made from simple 1/2 inch bolts and nickle plated acorn nuts. When I picked up the acorn nuts at ACE hardware  I was going to get some fancier chrome plated acorn nuts  but they wanted $6.29 a piece and for this gift it was too rich for my blood.

Not sure what to write about I wait until the last moment to write this blog as always and of course it comes out in serious piss poor quality. I got off work this morning and it was pouring down rain but it appeared to let up as I pulled in my drive. I ran to the shed and loaded up my hedge trimmers a rake and chainsaw.I drive  over to my girlfriends house and in a slight drizzle pruned all of the low hanging limbs.Next on my list was the hedges these have been over grown and bothering me for awhile. I also yanked down the vines snaking their way up the side of the house and constricting themselves around the gutter.Work definitely did not go quickly as it seemed every twenty mins the sky would really start falling on me and im all for working hard and braving the elements but a heavy down pour is even enough to stop me.I won't be in class tonight seeing as my mother is seriously ill and i'll be spending the evening with her.

Warm weather approaching

I'm very excited for this warm weather that is going to be approaching spring bonfires and crisp spring mornings sound pretty nice. Easter Sunday and the Day before where so nice! I was very disappointed when I walked outside Monday and Tuesday mornings this week and it looked sunny but it was in fact cold. Sunday I got the tiller out and broke some ground tilling in some straw and fish meal.Later that day I planted forty seed potatoes and about fifty onion sets.I think I might try to plant some melons beans garlic and peppers later on.It will be nice to have a small edible garden this year composed of my most favored vege's.

I guess I might be a cat person.

Thinking back to when I was a little kid my first pet was a cat his name was growler and he was the shit. I'm pretty sure the cat hated me for carrying him around all the time but I sure enjoyed it.Later in life about the time I was in elementry school if you where a boy and liked cats that was weird boys should like dogs (which I do really like dogs) so I always felt myself alittle strange since I liked cats. Once I moved onto highschool though that all changed everyone who had before talked down on us cat lovers was now catching up with us on why this domestic breed is loved. Many of my friends more specificly Alex and Tyler both where cat people.Tylers mom rescued strays and found them new homes at any time there where mabey six cats in there house  and four of them where there pets that didn't leave. I rmember we would heard all the cats into Tyler bedroom when we where getting down on some XBOX  and we would just be surrounded by cats on every surface it was a pretty funny sight. Most recently I was kickin it with my buddy Alex we where both holding one of his cats and out  of nowhere he looks over and says "Cats are fucking awesome!" I look back over and respond ''I know right?"

Not a whole lot of fun on this spring break.I have just picked up a couple more hours this week which is nice because I've been getting very little as of late.I actually type ths from one of the houses I do work at. The guys name is Jeff and he is definitely the most challenging client I have worked with.He is autistic and so pushy plus he asks a million questions and try's to talk to you while you are on the phone. It all bothers me so much. The one redeeming quality is that he does shower and brush his teeth on a daily basis. I can't wait for this shift to end only about an hour more and i'll be free. From what I understand a pile of my internet orders arrived yesterday while I was at work so there should be some packages for me to open on my day off this will be a nice way to kick that off/. I will leave you with a picture of my Bengal Cat.

I hope  posting this so late win't count against me.

Today was a wild.I got off work at 9AM This morning I get a call from a employer from this past summer  that I need to meet at the shop ASAP because I could get paid today(I went 247 hours working with out getting paid.) And was able to secure my payment which was a nice little cushion especially with tax returns rolling in here soon. Set up a time with Henry from last semester for lunch tommorrow after running into him on JCCC's main campus. My long time friend Ian had his going away party tonight(thus my absence from class this evening) he is leaving for basic training tomorrow in Oklahoma. It was a sad but jolly party! With today off work I managed to clean and straighten up my garage which really got messy over the winter. I am definately ready for spring break to be here and have no other commitments but work.
